What gets in the way of Courageous Coaching?

As coaches, we all have patterns that quietly shape how we show up - perfectionism, self-criticism, people-pleasing, and comparison are some examples of common patterns I see. They often appear when we most want to be courageous.

This four-part webinar series offers space to pause and look at these patterns honestly and compassionately. Each session focuses on one theme, helping you recognise how it shows up in your coaching and explore what a braver, more grounded response might look like.

You can join one, a few, or all four sessions. Each is a standalone session, with new reflection prompts and live discussion. Following each webinar you will receive a reflection guide to support you to deepen your reflections.

This series is for coaches who want to bring more courage, presence, and humanity into their practice — not by adding new tools, but by doing the inner work that makes courage possible.

Perfectionism

Wednesday 21st January
5.30-6.30pm (UK)

Join this session if you want to look honestly at how perfectionism shapes your coaching. You’ll reflect on what “getting it right” costs you, and explore what changes when you allow yourself to show up with more humanity and less pressure.

Self-criticism

Wednesday 28th January
5.30-6.30pm (UK)

If your inner critic has a lot to say during or after your coaching sessions, this hour will help. We’ll slow things down, notice how self-criticism affects your presence, and look at kinder, more grounded ways to relate to yourself.

People-pleasing

Wednesday 11th February
5.30-6.30pm (UK)

If you sometimes hold back to keep your clients comfortable, this session is for you. We’ll explore how people-pleasing shows up in subtle ways in coaching, and what a braver, more honest response might look like

Comparison

Wednesday 18th February
5.30-6.30pm (UK)

Join this session if comparison pulls you off centre. We’ll look at how it impacts your confidence and your voice as a coach, and explore small shifts that help you return to a steadier sense of self-trust.

I’m Melissa Hague, a coach, courage-builder, and Certified Dare to Lead™ Practitioner.

I’ve been coaching since 2013, and my work centres on helping coaches bring more courage, compassion, and grounded confidence into their practice.

My own courage-building started in 2019 when I trained with Brené Brown. Since then, I’ve focused on the inner work that allows us to coach with depth and humanity - noticing our patterns, staying with vulnerability, and showing up as the person our clients need, not the polished version we think we should be.

I’m the creator of The Courageous Coach ® - a programme, a podcast, and a community for coaches who want to go beyond tools and techniques. My approach brings together evidence-based research, lived experience, and over a decade of coaching practice.
